Farnborough Donkey Derby Success-Thank you
Farnborough’s Donkey Derby took place yesterday and it was a tremendous success. The sun shone, the crowds came out and a good time was had by all. The event, which is organised by the local rotary clubs is an annual event that raises funds for local charities. Its fast approaching, one of the biggest local events in Farnborough. On Monday 26th May the traditionally English event of racing donkeys over 100 yards ridden by 10 year old children screaming with fright and delight is coming. Unfortunatley, the last two events have been cancelled, but the event has been a feature in Farnborough’s community since the 1960s and we are hoping that the good weather will return. The 2009 Donkey Derby will be held on Spring Bank Holiday, Monday 25 May, King George V Playing Field, Sycamore Road, Farnborough. Organised by the Rotary Clubs of Farnborough, Rushmoor and Blackwater Valley. Public are admitted from 12 noon. Entry is by programme (which gives entry to one person) and the price is £1.50 per adult and £1 for children. Save money!
