Every year one of our members – Roy Sharpe who has been a member since 1970 arranges a weekend away for members, their spouses, friends and partners. The generosity of the people of Farnborough was well-demonstrated on Sunday 7th October when shoppers in Queensmead donated £500 for Shelterbox, a UK based disaster relief charity.   Members of Farnborough Rotary Club had on display the equipment used by Shelterbox and that is currently being distributed to the Indonesian families following the terrible earthquake and Tsunami on the island of Sulawesi. It is with regret that we announce the passing of Past President and Paul Harris Fellow John Batty. John joined Farnborough Rotary club in 1998 and was club president 2004-05. He was an enthusiastic member who had time for everyone. For more than 4 years he was Chairman of the Picnic To Music In The Park, the biennial event held by the club to raise funds for the Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice.
